From director Clint Eastwood comes the big-screen version of the Tony Award-winning musical “Jersey Boys.”
The film tells the story of four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic rock group The Four Seasons. The story of their trials and triumphs are accompanied by the songs that influenced a generation.
Led by MPC VFX Supervisor Greg Butler who worked closely with Production VFX Supervisor Michael Owens, the team delivered 150 shots for Jersey Boys, helping tell the story of the Four Seasons rise to fame.
MPC Vancouver’s artists created subtle, photo-real VFX to show the boys in a number of different locations and time periods. MPC artists recreated New York city street environments from the late 50’s and the early 90’s, a mid-Western country fair, concert venues and a number of other locations. Period accurate CG vehicles including a 1958 NYC cab were built as well as pedestrians and concert-goers to populate the various sequences.
